Philip Lindsay Rooke – 1952-2024

Phil was born in 1952 in Manitoba, the youngest of four children. He graduated from Cowichan Senior Secondary School with our class in 1970, and raised a family in Maple Bay while working in real estate in the Cowichan Valley for over 45 years.

A celebration of his life will be held at Maple Bay Rowing Club on Dec 1st. Further details can be found by reading his Obituary on Dignity Memorial.

To all my exceptional friends and clients- This year has put us all to the test. We’ve all found it hard to plant our feet on the ground when it feels like the ground continues to shift beneath us. With so much uncertainty, the only thing to do is to take control of what we can control.
Family, home, neighbours, friends and the space around us- our own corner of the world. Take and maintain control of these important things and make them better.
We cannot fix everything in the world, but we can make a difference with family, friends, neigbourhood and community.

Stay strong, keep calm, and carry on.

So Merry Christmas to all and a wish for a bright and happy future to everyone!

Memories

Rip to our dear friend and realtor, ohhh the adventures we have had, we miss you dearly, forever in our hearts – Jody Kerrone

I would like to share that Phil played an unselfish role in helping my husband and I get our first start in our own home.  We were young, broke and had a dream to purchase our first home.  The home we found was being sold privately but Phil offered to support us with our offer and contract only charging us pennies for his services (which was all we had).  When we sold our second home he also assisted us through the private market giving of his time, expertise and support.  Over the years we would see him, and stayed in touch.  History repeats itself.

As parents our daughter and husband were seeking to purchase a home in the Cowichan Valley. Although they ended up not finding a home here. Phil went out of his way to provide them with the information and honest opinion on a home which they were not successful in the bid for, but none the less this was not about the $ it was about walking a young couple through the real estate journey.

We send his family and friends our condolences.
Sincerely, Robert and Cindy Lise

RIP our dear friend. You made life so enjoyable. I will miss you everyday. We had an Irish Car Bomb in your honour. Wendy Holden
